Okay so you may be a promoter, have a business, or you’re an affiliate and you are trying to sell via facebook on your personal page.
Shame on you! You’re my friend on facebook and your personal page is spamming me. Not cool, not cool at all.
I personally did this at first and kind of felt bad because not all my friends care for the things I promote or my marketing talk. So what did I do? Well I told them I was going to create a fan page {which is now known as a Like page} and if they were interested in what I had to offer to please join my page.
To my surprise I had many followers that were interested in what I have to say. I’m quite honored and will be thrilled to know that I am able to somehow help them.
So back to my little talk about shame on you for promoting on your personal page. Actually there’s nothing wrong with the way do business I was just teasing you however I started unfriending people that were sending out invites left and right. Don’t get me wrong if you ask me to sign up to your Like page and it’s something of interest to me then fine, I will and I will certainly be okay with seeing your promotional feeds come through my news streams. However, if I didn’t sign up for it and you are telling every week about this club or that club is doing whatever, well I am not paying no never mind to it and may just remove you as a friend.
No harm no foul, I will still like you but I just won’t read your feed anymore, that’s all.
Give it a thought and look through your facebook news feed. Do you really care for all that noise?
I’m in the process now of creating lists for my friends so that I get the marketing and promotion feeds from one group and then the personal feeds from another.
It’s a great feature to use if you have time to set it up.
