Got Passwords?

Passwords, confirming emails, more passwords.  Logins coming out the wood works. This can be somewhat overwhelming and a hot mess if you let it.

Password Manager

Here is a free and wonderful solution to all your different logon and password problems.  LastPass to the rescue.

This is the one the I personally use.  There are many other password apps out there that you can use like Roboform1Password, and Passpack.

In the previous post “Be Everywhere and Be Social” I asked that get started with creating accounts to the many social media sites that they provide service for.

When you sign up for those services it will ask you to create a username and you will start to get emails.

Your inbox will begin to get flooded with confirmation emails.  This is why I strongly recommended that you create that new Gmail account for this purpose.

Something else you can do is create a folder in your inbox for these new sites and services that you are going to use.

So before you go any further here are a few things I would like you to do.

  • Create a new Gmail account
  • Download and install Lastpass (or one of your choice)
  • Create a Ping.fm account
  • Login to Ping.fm and begin to create accounts for each of the services they have.

Setting up accounts will be very time consuming but once that part is over with you will begin to reap the benefits.  So don’t over look this step and sign up to those sites and make sure you are very organized with your username and passwords.

I spoke to you earlier about ping.fm and the many accounts you will have to sign up for and in upcoming posts I will go over more sites that do similar multi-postings for you.

So for your homework, get a password manager account and start signing up to those sites on ping.fm and complete your profile description as best as possible.
